The incumbent president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and his camarilla will not be able to avoid criminal liability after the presidential elections, which will be held on March 31. Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Batkivshchyna party, made such a statement at a press briefing.

According to the presidential candidate, Poroshenko and his allies will be banned to leave the country during the investigation. She accuses the president and his administration of corruption schemes, misuse of administrative resources during the election campaign, bribing voters and illegal use of the media for agitating Ukrainian people.

“You will be held accountable for every kopiyka stolen from the people of Ukraine,” Tymoshenko stressed.

It should be noted that the Batkivshchyna leader’s accusations against the president are fully justified. The case is that recently the Ukrainian media publicly reported on major manipulations of public procurement and the country’s defence budget. According to the journalistic investigation, all criminal traces lead to the presidential administration, public Ukroboronprom concern, and the first deputy secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine (NSDC), Oleg Gladkovsky, Poroshenko’s former business partner.

In this regard, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine opened a criminal investigation on embezzlement of public funds in particularly large amounts. And Tymoshenko, in her turn, announced impeachment proceedings against the incumbent president.
